The first annual Bluffton 4th of July pie baking contest was held in 2003 A total of 52 pies were entered. When the judging was all completed the grand prize winner was none other than Ruthann Kyle, former innkeeper at the Washington Street Inn Bed & Breakfast. You can imagine how good the breakfasts must be! The picture at the right shows her receiving her Longenberger basket as first prize.
